
Kielan Ellis is a writer, producer, director, graphic designer and award winning editor from Toronto, Canada. He is a co-founder of Independent Production Company 512RED, which he runs with long-time collaborators Will Gotlib and Jack Hillier. He has directed three feature films, co-produced a web-series (of which he directed two episodes), and independently produced over twenty shorts, including several that have screened at festivals including the Ottawa International Animation Festival and TIFF Short Cuts. His most recent feature film, Will and Ben versus Time was an official selection at the Brooklyn Science Fiction Film Festival in 2024.
Kielan Ellis won an award from The School of Image Arts for editing Frida in the Sky, an animated short film by Dani Sadun which was shortlisted for a Student Academy Award. The same year he also edited Deserter, a short by Aidan Lesser, which was an official selection at the 2024 Slamdance Film Festival.
Kielan is currently enrolled in a Masters of Fine Arts in Screenwriting and Story Design at Toronto Metropolitan University and is in development on a television pilot called Staffroom, with Jane of All Trades attached to produce and Al Magee attached as an EP.
